The Garlic Beauty Pill

My skin is doing the smooth and glowing thing that I love that makes me almost able to recognize myself 😉 My skin has been through a TON since the tragedies of last year. Just when I started to shop for foundations and powders for the first time in my adult life, my skin begins to glow again. I know my skin is healthy when I don’t get enough sleep and it still looks bright and alive, and firm. But I must attribute this regeneration to the following:

1. Wheatgrass & Garlic: As I have said before, I juice this stuff every morning (usually) and even had some last night. Twice a day is better than once if you can afford it (money & time). I drink every last drop and take the residue from the shot glass and rub it on my face! Well I usually put garlic in my wheatgrass { you can just throw it in the juicer with the grass }. There are tons of sources on the benefits of garlic:
{ ” Garlic has a vast array of health benefits; its anti bacterial – so great for fighting coughs, colds and candida, warts and toothache. It increases antioxidant levels so a great anti-ager. It has antibiotic properties so good for acne. Great for high blood pressure, cardiovascular health and high cholesterol. It is also believed to regulate blood sugar levels by increasing the levels of insulin so good for diabetics. ” } – This site

Fresh Wheatgras

Blah blah blah. The point is really though that it is such a powerful cleanser, it has almost immediate effects. Regardless what is in my belly/colon a phat shot of wheatgrass with a thick clove of garlic will get it out. Ali always said–as many do–that your face is a reflection of your liver. So obviously garlic has potent cleansing effects on your liver, thus the glow in your face.

So, moral of the story, garlic is a powerful beauty secret from within and without.

I am lmao right now at this site where someone claims that Cleopatra used milk baths to keep her skin white! LMAO! Too bad Cleo was a black-skinned sistah! But at least they had some info about garlic. I don’t even want to give them traffic, but whatever.

Beautiful, beautifying garlic

2. Increased rest. Your body regenerates cells between 10pm and 2 am. Sleep! Sleeping from 9 to 5 is the best beauty move you can make.

3. HOT water. A cleanser and an energizer. Hydration is crucial for cleansing and for skin elasticity and youth. Hot is better than cold. Cold restricts and slows, often shocks your system. Hot water elevates the already warm environment and eases movement within the cell walls? I don’t know, I’m not a scientist yet*. You get the point.

What else have I been doing… ah yes, 4. the constant salads and green smoothies. They have also been potent cleansers and nourishers at the same time. It’s a great move to cleanse with something that also nourishes. Like if you’re going to do a liquid fast, use nourishing teas like hibiscus and raspberry and sage and the million other herbs that provide nourishment.

5. One thing I have not been using consistently but try to keep in my fridge is aloe vera gel. Internal and external. Super powerful. Apparently it even has B vitamins. I was slacking on it until I heard about that somewhat recently, then I started keeping it stocked again.

The healing aloe vera

*Thinking about becoming a medical anthropologist.

6. The major thing I forgot to mention: WITCH HAZEL. Unfortunately I can’t list one of these as being the curing bullet, because I literally started doing all these again last week, and they are all part of my normal, healthy routine. But I did see the last bit of roughness disappear with the re-introduction of witch hazel: as a skin toner of course.

I use a handcrank wheatgrass juicer and put in two HEADS of garlic and two lemons or limes. I run them through several times and drink the juice. No smell, and no stomach upset.
I do it immediately after a run. My very high blood pressure drops 20 pts ( both numbers) and my lymph nodes (which have given me hell my entire adult life) no longer give me any trouble.
This is the best way to get the garlic in by far.
I need to get back on the alie leaves and start growing some wheatgrass.
I sprout lentils, sesame and sunflower seeds and eat them daily.

OMG you’re amazing!!! I can barely stand the one head of garlic. I love sprouting but am off beans for now. Will definitely be sprouting in the future. Thanks for sharing!
